Grayling damages Tories

Chris Grayling (still an MP, but only for another 4 days) still hasn’t published a retraction or clarification that I can find, on whether he meant to suggest that it’s okay to break the law. Cameron hasn’t rebuked him either.

Anastasia Beaumont-Bott, who was the first ever chairman of LGBTory has told of her guilt for having told gay voters to back the Tories in the past. This is all after Chris Grayling, who is still the shadow Home Secretary, said he believed bed and breakfast owners should have the right to ban gay couples from staying in their property.

Anistasia has called on the Tory leader to dismiss Mr Grayling. So far, Cameron hasn’t taken any action. I would say it’s embarassing for him, but all the pointers seem to indicate that Cameron’s changed his stance on gay rights because his PR person has told him it would be good for him to do so. Ask him why he changed his stance, and he doesn’t have an answer.

The very same David Cameron who has formed an alliance with hard-edged right-wing parties in Europe who oppose gay people having rights. Of course, Dave claims to be ignorant of this, but there was enough of a stink in the press at the time, perhaps he had his head stuck somewhere the sun doesn’t shine, so he couldn’t read.

So no, I’m not surprised that Chris Grayling could get away scott free without any words from Cameron.

Quite a shame really, as Grayling could be the first person to be punished with this new National Service Cameron has planned!
