The following TV advert has been pulled when the Advertising Standards Authority received over 200 complaints about it:
Nigel Dickie, of Heinz UK, said:
It is our policy to listen to consumers. We recognise that some consumers raised concerns over the content of the ad and this prompted our decision to withdraw it.
The advertisement, part of a short-run campaign, was intended to be humorous and we apologise to anyone who felt offended.
I am literally incensed that the company felt it necessary to say they apologise to bigots!
Now Heinz have upset the LGBT community by pulling the ad – sign the online petition today to send a message to the company that they shouldn’t pander to bigots.
Heinz had the balls to make the ad, and show it briefly on British Television. Now they need to have the balls to stand up to bigotted attitudes.
Oh yeah, flavour has a u in it in the UK.
