Hi All..

I waS looking at my online banking early this morning and noticed a payment go out for £5.99 from DSWC. I have had no contact from this company, never even heard of them and have also spoke to SKY who said they have never passed my details to anyone but somehow this complany has got hold of my bank details and setup a direct debit without my knowledge and without my permission. I now intend to not only contact my fraud line with the bank about this and also contact the Police so I think that they can expect a nice court case if I have anything to do with it.

I'm grateful to you for pointing out that Sky pass on details. I didn't even go ahead with a Sky installation (they messed me about with an installation date, so I cancelled) - and still my details have clearly ended up with this third party! I did make the "no third party contact" request, too.

Hahaha, the little tinkers will try anything apparently!
Got a phone call from a suitably abrupt young lady(?) who told me that my warranty had actually EXPIRED *gasps* I told her no thank you, she then rounded on me by agressively demanding I tell her what I would do if my box broke down......I proceeded to tell her that I thought that was up to me really, to which I was told "Well that's a stupid answer you silly B*tch".

BUT....and I must stress here, the company name she gave me was 'Direct Warranties', to whom I shot off an e-mail complaining heartily at their practices. This resulted in a phone call from a gentleman most bemused that I was complaining of an abusive sales call when in fact, they don't DO outbound calls! He suggested I look into it being one of Satellite Directs offshoots...a small amount of googling later and here I am!

I'm quite sure they wont be able to help themselves and look forward to their next charming, persuasive call with anticipation...hoping Jay wont mind too much if I 'borrow' some of the points above! Harsh, but fair!

Greetings everyone.
We received a letter from "rrhk-euuz-ekhc" who ever they are. When we set this up August last year when a Sky representative came a courting Pepe and Sky were the only involved parties in the deal. So either Sky are lying or Pepe has been a very bad boy.
Pepe may be comming to a street near you (Leeds that is).
Any body want his agent number?

I left a note on my other post, but here it is again, in case you miss it.

Sky have said most profusely that they don't pass your details on to this company. They have their own warranty product they are more than happy to promote to you.

The only other person who would know that you have Sky is the retailler who installed it - mine was a company called Spectrum Communications, based in Croydon.

They now seem to be part of a bigger group, Spectrum (UK), and as I say, if anyone else apart from Sky knows that we have it, it can only be the company which installed it.

If anyone did get their Sky installed by a Sky engineer from Sky, and still receives these letters, that would disprove my theory. But I think it's the only viable answer.

I too have received phone calls (early Sunday morning) late evening etc and received quite a few letters through the post. I am wondering just how many naive and vulnerable pensioners these conmen are actually getting money out of.

I noticed straight away due to the fact that the letter they send looks like it was done by some 3 year old on an old copy of Wordperfect, but some people wont.

I called and spoke to a very abrupt lady (chav) who advised me that my sky warranty was in fact running out. So I thought I would try a little game with them.

1. I asked them for the details of my sky account - they said they didn't have those details.

2. I asked them for the details of my Sky equipment so I could verify they had the right ones - I was again told that they didn't have this information on their system.

3. I then asked if they could possibly explain to me how they therefore knew that a. I had a sky box in the first place and b. that the warranty was running out.

4. I then proceeded to tell her that they will probably soon be following in Woolworths footsteps and that she should look to take her weekend burger van job full time and hung up.

Oh and remember if you are going to call them use the local rate number on the bottom of the form and not the 0870 or 0871 numbers and also dial 141 before the number to block your number from appearing. (also works with mobiles).

I then wrote them a nice message on their letter, tore the address off and popped it back into the nice freepost envelope provided. It would be very interesting if everyone who received a letter did in fact send them some form of response in there freepost envelopes. Although I personally don't condone that kind of behaviour.

Plus the freepost address could be written on any envelope or small parcel and will still be sent to them, the number 1 in the top right corner has no bearing on this.

Hope this helps anyone who is interested. Post your experiences below and let me know how you get on.

I to have had several letters concerning the above company,I even went to the TSO to see if i could do any thing,it seems that my local trading stantards office are unaware of this company.I myself see this letter they send out as a veiled threat pointing out if you don't take action now you'll have to pay x amount of £££s and no guarantee when a engineer will come out.I,m most annoyed with sky giving my details to a third party and shall be calling them to complain and again report the issue to the TSO.
